Attorney Consultation & Evaluation Review Services

For family law matters in which psychological findings influence litigation, clear and defensible analysis is essential.

I provide structured forensic consultation and independent evaluation review services designed to assist attorneys navigating complex psychological evidence in contested parenting and custody disputes. My work emphasizes methodological clarity, disciplined reasoning, and transparent linkage between findings and conclusions.

How I Assist Attorneys

Consultation services are designed to support case strategy and clarify the strengths and limitations of psychological evidence.

I assist with:

  • Independent review of parenting evaluations and related reports

  • Identification of methodological strengths and limitations

  • Assessment of psychological testing interpretation

  • Evaluation of collateral sufficiency and data integration

  • Analysis of whether conclusions are adequately supported by findings

  • Clarification of clinical versus forensic opinion

  • Consultation regarding deposition preparation or cross-examination focus

Engagements may be structured as verbal consultation, written memorandum, deposition preparation support, or expert testimony when appropriate.

Parenting Evaluations

I conduct comprehensive, court-involved parenting plan and child custody evaluations, typically initiated at the request of the court or retaining counsel. In these matters, the referring party — not the individual being evaluated — is considered the client.

Each evaluation assesses individual, relational, and developmental factors relevant to the child’s best interests and long-term stability. Information is integrated from multiple sources to develop objective, evidence-based opinions regarding parenting responsibilities, decision-making authority, and residential arrangements.

The evaluation process is structured and neutral, and may include:

  • Clinical interviews with each parent and the child(ren)

  • Collateral interviews with relevant professionals or family members

  • Behavioral observations

  • Review of records

  • Psychological testing when appropriate

Recommendations are grounded in the data gathered and articulated in structured, clearly written reports suitable for use in legal proceedings.

Limited-Scope Forensic Consultation

Not every case requires a comprehensive evaluation. I provide focused consultation on discrete psychological issues, including:

  • Allegations of coercive control or emotional abuse

  • Parent–child contact resistance or relational disruption

  • Developmental considerations in parenting arrangements

  • Differential diagnostic questions raised in custody disputes

  • Review and synthesis of psychological records

Limited-scope consultation allows attorneys to obtain targeted psychological insight without the time and expense of a full evaluation.

Expert Consultation for Family Law Attorneys

In addition to comprehensive evaluations, I provide non-treating expert consultation to family law attorneys in contested parenting matters.

Consultation services may include:

  • Case review and litigation strategy consultation

  • Analysis of child development and parenting factors relevant to disputed parenting plans

  • Independent review of parenting evaluations and related expert reports

  • Clarification of psychological testing interpretation

Consultation may be structured as non-testifying support or, when appropriate, as retained expert testimony.
